Sunderland Elim Foodbank

Foodbank

Tuesday and Thursday 10:30am -12:30pm

Our mission is to help people in crisis and meet their need, particularly with regards to food poverty. We also assist in other areas such as homelessness, form filing, sign posting or simply tea and sympathy. We are a Christian based organization who is open to those of all faiths or none. We endeavor to operate in a caring, confidential and non-judgmental way.

Who we are

We are a ministry of the Elim Church in Sunderland. All our workers are volunteers. The team is managed by the Elim Church Leadership. Volunteers are trained in matters of safety, people skills and confidentiality. Senior members of the team are DBS screened. We are passionate about our work and seek to be compassionate and accountable whilst looking to empower and encourage both those within the team and those referred to us.

How we work

We partner with numerous organizations among whom are social services, health centers, schools, the probation service and job centers. These organizations refer those in need to us via a voucher system. We provide a minimum of 3 days emergency food and additional support as required.

How can you help?

We rely on food donations to enable us to continue serving our community. We would be most grateful if you could donate (in-date, non-perishable) any of the items listed opposite. Please bring any items on a Tuesday or Thursday between 10:30am and 12:30pm.
