We passionately believe in the power of prayer, a two way conversation involving talking and listening to God. God loves to hear your voice! WOW! He recognises your voice and was there long before voice recognition! God loves us talking to Him, thanking Him and sharing with Him what’s on our hearts. Indeed David in Psalm 62:8 says, “O my people, trust in Him at all times. Pour out your heart to Him, for God is our refuge.” (New Living Translation). In Philippians 4:6 we read, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.” (NLT) In the following verse, the Apostle Paul describes what one of the main benefits is; “Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts (emotions) and minds (thoughts) as you live in Christ Jesus.” (NLT)
Not only does prayer change things but it changes us. R.C. Sproul, in ‘The Prayer of the Lord’ puts it like this: “Prayer does change things, all kinds of things. But the most important thing it changes is us. As we engage in this communion with God more deeply and come to know the One with whom we are speaking more intimately, that growing knowledge of God reveals to us all the more brilliantly who we are and our need to change in conformity to Him. Prayer changes us profoundly.”
